Okay, so I am pretty sure that almost everyone is somewhat familiar with the “no eating after 7pm rule” and realistically, it’s unpractical crap, especially for individuals who are highly active, athletic, or even bodybuilders or figure/fitness models. People who fall under any of these categories are constantly burning calories/ fat even when they aren’t working out, and the average person goes to bed at 11:30-12am, so are they going to go to bed hungry and grumpy? Well if they follow the 7pm rule, then yes, however, if they opt for healthy bedtime snacks which consist of high protein, healthy fats, low carbs, and vitamins, then they can go to bed happy and wake up energized and not a pound heavier. I personally couldn’t go to bed without eating something, and rather than eating a sugary cookie or a scoop of chocolate chip ice cream, I came up with this healthier option which helps me stay satisfied, loaded with protein which helps refuel my muscles when i’m sleeping (especially after leg day), and also helps with my mild insomnia. This recipe is pretty much a power bowl snack, and I have it every night! If you are also looking for other bedtime healthy snack ideas, you can also check out powercakes.net.
